Change Yourself

Have you ever wanted to start over?

The Ship of Theseus questions whether a ship with all its parts replaced is still the same ship. Similarly, skin and blood cells die and get replaced, and experiences that shape our identity come and go. Is it not reasonable to expect that every few years it’s possible to become an entirely different person?

Most people do not change. Many are already comfortable with who they are or just don’t care enough to get better. I believe perfection is intrinsically unattainable, meaning everyone is always living wrong in some way. In that sense, all people should be seeking improvement constantly.

Some things can’t change, like your birthplace or your past, but in the vast majority of cases what you do today can make a far more significant impact on your future. To be a different person a year from now, live the lifestyle that person would live today.
